Upcoming Elections:
March 2008

Following the passing of the Constitutional Amendment Bill 18, Zimbabwe’s Presidential, House of Assembly as well as Senatorial elections will all be harmonized and held on one day.

President:
In Zimbabwe, the President's term will run concurrently with the Parliamentary for a period of 5 years.

Senate:
93 members

  • 6 shall be elected in each of 10 provinces by voters registered in 60 senatorial constituencies as per the Delimitation presented by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission
  • 10 shall be Provincial Governors
  • 2 shall be the President and Deputy President of the Council of Chiefs
  • 16 shall be Chiefs, being 2 Chiefs from each of the provinces, other than the metropolitan provinces
  • 5 shall be appointed by the President

House of Assembly:
210 members to be elected by voters registered in 210 constituencies as per the Delimitation presented by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission

Population:
In 2006, Zimbabwe’s population was approximately to be 12 million people.
