Your donation helps the ZPDP to promote multi-party elections by leveling the playing field and enabling the ZPDP to campaign and register candidates in the 2008 Parliamentary and Presidential Elections in Zimbabwe. 

The ZPDP does not currently qualify for public funding under the Zimbabwean Political Parties Finance Act because it does not meet the parliamentary threshold that is one of the key requirements.  The party therefore relies mainly on membership donations and Zimbabwean well-wishers at home and abroad.

This is why the ZPDP is looking to mount a very formidable contest in the forth-coming elections so that the party can start to receive government funding.  Donor support can strengthen this effort.
